Verena was born and
grew up in the Bernese Oberland region of Switzerland. After attending teachers’
college she studied at the Universities of Bern and Freiburg, specializing in
the management and marketing of non-profit organizations. Verena completed her
education with a Master Degree in Management, and then worked for organizations
such as Amnesty International. She has volunteered as president and board
member of organizations such as the National Organization for Sexual Health in
Switzerland, and the foundations Sinnovativ and Cooperaxion ‒ organizations working
locally and internationally in sustainable development and intercultural
exchange. For more than 20 years, she has worked as an independent consultant
for non-profit organizations (associations, foundations and cooperatives),
public administration and political bodies in strategic planning, organizational
development, funding, and capacity development. She also provides professional
coaching to managers. Verena spent four years living in Ghana, and is now
resident in Bern.
